Hey, half my tooth fell off and i didnt go see that dentist for quite some time ! ....
By the time i did it hurt a hell of a lot, i told i have a tooth abscess, basically a bacterial infection that has spread into my same side jaw muscle and lymph gland, worried by its sudden spread and a few horror stories on the net re abscesses, i decided to take the antibiotics they offered, though i apologise to my body for doing so.
However i found myself unable to open my jaw or chew.....
as eating is recomended with these drugs and my diet very raw, i think i will do a juice fast to help.
never done this before so its not as intense as water fasting, would anyone reccomend or warn against this?
(also using goldenseal for its antibiotic effect)

Re: 'forced' juice fast
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 6:51 AMI had a similar thing happen with my tooth recently. It was OK for 6 months then started to get infected and really hurt. Don't have the cash for the major dental work, so I invested in a water pik, the kind with a special tip to get in the pocket. I just keep it really clean with sea salt water & baking soda, and now the infection is gone (it had spread to my jaw and ear at one point - ouwee!). Some people like to use hydrogen peroxide for this kind of thing. Some people might suggest spraying colloidal silver (not my personal recommendation though, since it will kill the "good" bacteria too).
Certainly fasting will help your body deal with it, although it might consequently flare up a bit at first too (as in a healing crisis). I would stay away from the sugar in fruit juices, and do green drinks if you want to try this. Get on a serious probiotic / prebiotic (like inulin) regime, especially since you took the antibiotics. Probiotics will help to fight the infection. You can even try putting the probiotic powder on your tooth. -

Re: 'forced' juice fast
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 1:30 PMI don't want to be alarmist but please get your teeth taken care of. I know someone who's sister died from an infection in her tooth. it can spread and send your body in to shock.
