Dear Colleagues:
I was reviewing some of the postings on this site and I noticed someone who said that they took I3C as a supplement and it helped to clear the acne on their skin. This is very interesting as I3C turns into DIM in the stomach (the stable metabolite) and DIM has recently been shown at UC Berkeley to significantly modulate the immune system with potent anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-cancer properties. As acne is usually caused by an infection, this discovery explains the earlier posting on this site about the person who took I3C. Physicians do not recommend I3C as a supplement as it turns into a lot of metabolites that have not yet been fully studied, but DIM has been taken as a supplement for a long time with significant clinical studies attesting to its effectiveness and safety.

Mike
