Acne help

topic posted Wed, February 28, 2007 - 8:27 AM by  Brittany
Hello everyone I had suffered from acne for a long time since my teenage years. I did a year long of cleanses (with breaks to let my healthy bacteria and body restore itself and I was very gentle on my body) which where great but some how my skin never got better. I threw away all of my skin products and now use little to no soap (if I do it's organic and very gentle) just water works best and organic oatmeal for black heads. Mix a little organic oatmeal with green tea or a detox tea and scrub away. Use about twice a week. I also started a supplement I 3 C. I took it for 3 months. Within the first month my skin was completely clear. It felt lke a miracle. Try it you won't be disapointed.

    "I also started a supplement I 3 C"

Could you explain what it is? Or...even better...give a link? I've never heard of it.

The Cruciferous Choice: Diindolylmethane or I3C?
Phytonutrient Supplements For Cancer Prevention and Health Promotion
        by Michael A. Zeligs, M.D.

        Abstract

The supplemental use of certain phytonutrients from cruciferous vegetables has great potential for the prevention of human cancer. Specifically, the discovery that certain cruciferous indoles -- diindolylmethane and indole-3-carbinol (I3C) -- also promote the healthy metabolism of estrogen has greatly expanded their use as effective dietary supplements for estrogen-related conditions.

Besides possible cancer prevention, the uses for absorbable diindolylmethane have included benefits for perimenopausal women, in premenstrual syndrome (PMS), in endometriosis, and in cervical dysplasia. Women on estrogen replacement (HRT) also benefit from supplementation, as well as men with estrogen-related conditions, including prostate hypertrophy.

In choosing dietary supplements containing either diindolylmethane or I3C, it is important to understand their differences as phytonutrients, including their contrasting potential for interaction with other compounds. These differences have important long-term safety implications.

acne is cleared up by supporting the liver according to individual body type needs.

my son struggles with teen acne. certainly hormones have a lot to do with it but i convinced him to have a colonic and 2 weeks prior i had him get off junk food, white flour, sugar and cut back on meat.

then he had his colonic and now he's a believer. it cleared up his face for a short time. of course, he would need to maintain the diet and, my recommendation, have a colonic at least every two weeks...

              Jake -
I think the other poster is probably right
the liver does have something to do with acne
and the liver plays a role in hormone stuff too
i think what the other poster MIGHT mean about body type
what areas of your body are deficient --
do you have a big toxic load?
do you have weak lungs from smoking?
were you born with a weak spleen?
the easiest thing to do would be to go to a naturopath Dr.
or herbalist or acupuncturest that you trust --
and get them to diagnose you
or you could read some books and diagnose yourself - there are a lot of good books on this subject
you need to look at the whole body when addressing liver issues to clear up acne

      Aloha Jake

It’s about having to much toxin in the bowl track. The toxins are absorbed into the blood stream and thru out the body and the only way they can get out is the skin. When we over load our liver with toxins, they can’t get out fast enough. When a bile duck gets blocked with waste, the bile will come out the skin. It’s the same with toxin.

If you were to do a series colonics, and they change your diet to live foods you will be a happy camper. Over acidity is what’s distorting are colons.

The Isagenix program works. The reason it works is because it's a cellular cleanse program. When you cleanse the body of all impurities then you allow your body to restore itself to it's natural state. Let the body do the work. I think God knew what she was doing when she created the human body? Go to my website and do your research: stephenmiholick.isagenix.com. you can order from my site. What's absolutely amazing about this whole program is that it's no extra cost at the end of the month because it's a meal replacement system. Where else can you put your body back to it's natural state as God intended at no extra charge? Isagenix sounds like divine intervention. ((((((See the signs)))))).

One more thing, the body (can and will) heal all imbalances when given the chance. Many people doing the isagenix are off their anti-depressants, their allergies are going away and there's even 1 guy that is down to half his diabetes medication after just 1 month on the program. Your skin is a reflection of what's going on with the inside of your body. REMOVE the toxins and watch your skin be alive and healthy.

    Much Love
    Steve

You said that you have done cleanses before? What type of cleanses? According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the skin is directly associated with the large intestines. Where on your face do you experience acne? Do you have it elsewhere on your body besides your face? The colon, the pyloric sphincter (where your stomach empties into your small intestine), and the duodenum (the first segment of your small intestine) are the places where mucoid plaque builds up the most, manifesting as skin eruptions. Your skin is a direct indicator of the internal environment and health of your digestive organs. Gross, huh?
Doing the superficial treatment won't really be effective if you are regularly ingesting coffee, sugar, dairy, and meat. I'm not advocating a vegan, raw, sugar free diet....but reducing those food products will significantly improve your skin. Try adding sea vegetables to your diet....seaweed. Yummy.
Check out Richard Anderson, N.D., N.M.D. book "Cleanse & Purify Yourself"

Please pass this on to anyone else.

      I agree with Heatherlee,

I think that adressing your intestinal tract is the best way to deal with acne. Start there then move on to cleansing your liver. Cut out sugar and bad fats, eat sea veggies YES!, coldwater fish and free range eggs (if you eat animal protein), lots of probiotics and cultured veggies! and lots of raw and/or lightly steamed veggies.
Drink lots of water. Cook with extra virgin unrefined cocnut oil, get your Omega 3's.
Diet can greatly effect the quality of your skin. Then when you cleanse incorporate probiotics to your cleanse.

      One love,
      L

Hi all You can get I 3 C at planet organics or lifestyles market just go into a health food store and ask. It's kept in the fridge. It was recommended to me by my naturopath. Did the trick. It helps cleanse the bowels which then decreses the load on the liver. becuase as other people have said if you have over loaded bowels toxins will leach through the intestinal wall back into the blood stream and back to the liver.
