kim chi

I had tried the salt water quart one time, and was so thouroughly disgusted, that I quickly thought of an alternative...I make my own kimchi, and always have a lot of brine left over that I will occasionally sip for added digestion. So I have used this to replace the salt water...it definitely has the same effect, and is much more palatable. I have been doing this to start my once a week fast day-one quart. ~Aura

mmm that sounds so much better.
i havent made kim chi before, so dunno if i will ever follow suit, but i think its a lovely idea that is way more accessible than the salt water.
i have a really hard time getting down salt water- a lot of gagging. my alternative (sort of) is to drink ocean water- i live close to the sea in summers, when there is work in tourist towns, and yeah, maybe its not reccommended to drink straight from the sea near new york, but i can stomach it much easier than my home-mixed saltwater. and i enjoy it. and it works.
